Whole House Surge Protection in Alcalde, NM
New Mexico's summer monsoon brings frequent lightning, and every strike near a power line can send a surge into your home. Whole house surge protection in Alcalde stops that surge at the panel, before it reaches your appliances and electronics.
Surge protection services
Most surges are small and come from inside the home or from utility switching, and over time they wear down circuit boards in appliances. A panel-mounted surge protective device handles both the everyday surges and the big storm-driven ones. In Alcalde we usually pair it with point-of-use protection for computers and televisions.

Why Alcalde properties call a local electrician
In the high country around Alcalde, electrical systems have to handle freezing winters, summer thunderstorms, and long rural service runs. Thick adobe walls and historic construction make wiring work slower and call for careful planning.
Depending on your address, power in Rio Arriba County typically comes from Jemez Mountains Electric Cooperative, Kit Carson Electric Cooperative, or Northern Rio Arriba Electric Cooperative. When a job involves the meter or the service connection, we coordinate the shutoff and reconnection with the utility.
